My Review
Talking Hoosier History has the potential to be an interesting and engaging podcast about Indiana history. It is fantastic that the Indiana Historical Bureau is embracing "new" trends and providing listeners, including Indiana residents and out of state residents, with interesting content and another format in addition to websites, digital collections, and print materials.

My Review
Though this compilation of songs is a bit out-dated, it could be a good starting point for educators and librarians on planning lesson that explores Indiana history through music. For example, a teacher could craft a lesson plan around songs, such as the Indiana State song.

Indiana's state song is "On the Banks of the Wabash, Far Away" written by Paul Dresser, an Indiana native of Terre Haute. The following websites feature lyrics and more information about the song.

Summary
The Ball State University Libraries' Digital Media Repository features an online collection of audio sources, including oral histories, interviews, and famous speeches. Collections focus on different aspects of Indiana history from oral histories with Ball State University faculty to lecture series and historic audio recordings.
Two interesting audio collections within the Digital Media Repository include the Robert F. Kennedy Speech Collection and the Eleanor Roosevelt Speech Collection. Both of theses prominent figures visited and presented speeches at Ball State University. Along with audio, these collections also feature videos, photographs (seen below), and transcripts of the speeches.

My Review
Oral histories and sound recordings can be an engaging format that facilitates and expands the learning experiences of students from early ages through adulthood. This set of historical audio collections, along with others, can be a valuable tool both in and out of the classroom. Along with videos, audio can truly bring Indiana history to life for listeners.

- Indiana University - Bloomington's Center for the Study of History and Memory also has a collection of audio interviews and sources that cover an array of topics.
- Indiana University Archives also curated a bicentennial oral history project.
- Also, the Indiana State Library is another great resource for oral histories.
